Founder Josep Cudié began his chocolatier career in 1940 as the head baker at the Joan Trens and Riba pastry shop, a historic and renowned site in the Cal Catani in Vilafranca de Penedès. The pastry shop's Cro-crem was very popular and became Cudié's signature chocolate.
In 1960, Josep Cudié registered the brands Cro-crem and Catania, gradually passing on his secret recipe to the second generation. His three children began working with him in chocolate making. Today, Cudié has passed down to the third generation, marketing his time-honored handmade chocolate recipe in innovative and stylish packaging and diverse flavors to many countries around the world, making it one of Spain's cultural symbols!
